Vietnamese Leaders Congratulate Trump, Reaffirm Strong U.S.-Vietnam Partnership
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Following the recent election of Donald John Trump as President of the United States, General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam Central Committee Tô Lâm, President Lương Cường, and Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính extended their congratulations to President Trump, highlighting the importance of the U.S. as a vital strategic partner for Vietnam.
In their messages, the Vietnamese leaders reaffirmed the significance of the U.S.-Vietnam Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, expressing optimism that this relationship, built over nearly three decades, will continue to develop “intensively, extensively, effectively, and sustainably.” They conveyed confidence that with President Trump’s ongoing support, this partnership will advance the aspirations of the people of both nations, contributing to peace, stability, and cooperation in the Asia-Pacific region and beyond.
Vice President Võ Thị Ánh Xuân also sent a congratulatory message to Vice President-elect James David Vance, underscoring the commitment of both nations to enhance bilateral relations in the coming years.
During his first term, President Trump made two significant visits to Vietnam, including attending the APEC Summit and a subsequent State visit in 2017, followed by the historic 2019 DPRK-U.S. Summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un in Hanoi. These visits underscored the strengthening of U.S.-Vietnam relations, setting a strong foundation for future collaboration across a range of sectors.
