Vietnamese Party Chief’s Book on Socialism Presented in Havana
Havana, The Gulf Observer: The book on the theory and practice of socialism in Việt Nam, authored by General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Central Committee Nguyễn Phú Trọng, was recently introduced in Havana, Cuba. The presentation took place during a visit by a CPV delegation to the Caribbean nation.
Leading the delegation was Võ Văn Bé, Deputy Director, and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Sự Thật (Truth) National Political Publishing House. The event on February 16 was attended by notable figures, including Fernando González Llort, President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples and Hero of the Republic of Cuba; Enrique Ubieta Gómez, Director of the Cuba Socialista magazine; and Jorge Legañoa Alonso, Vice President of the Union of Journalists of Cuba.
Participants at the event expressed the belief that the perspectives and guidelines on socialism presented in the book by the Vietnamese Party and State would serve as a valuable reference for Cuba in shaping its socialist ideology and path.
Previously, the book had been introduced to the leadership and advisory bodies of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) Central Committee at its headquarters.
Rogelio Polanco Fuentes, Secretary of the PCC Central Committee and head of its Ideological Department, emphasized the theoretical and practical value of the book. He noted that it offers Cuban officials and the public a deeper understanding of socialism in Vietnam.
Titled “Một số vấn đề lý luận và thực tiễn về chủ nghĩa xã hội và con đường đi lên chủ nghĩa xã hội ở Việt Nam” (translated as “Some theoretical and practical issues on socialism and the path to socialism in Việt Nam”), the book was launched on the occasion of the 92nd founding anniversary of the CPV (February 3, 1930 – 2022).
As a compilation of 29 significant articles and speeches by the Party leader, the book aims to provide insights into socialism and the path to socialism in Việt Nam. Its purpose is to facilitate understanding among cadres, Party members, and the public, fostering consensus within society to achieve the strategic goals set by the Party, the late President Hồ Chí Minh, and the people.
