Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called on the Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) to enhance the efficiency of its assets, finances, and human resources to better address the evolving needs of the railway industry.

During the conference on the railway sector’s 2024 plan, PM Chinh highlighted the sector’s potential for contributing to overall transportation efficiency.

Despite positive achievements in 2023, challenges such as administrative complexity, low mechanization, outdated infrastructure, and budget constraints were noted. Chinh urged VNR to apply modern management methods, restructure effectively, and promote digital transformation.

Emphasizing the importance of perfecting institutions and policies to mobilize resources, the Prime Minister instructed the implementation of the approved development strategy and restructuring scheme by the end of 2025, with a focus on addressing major challenges and difficulties.
