Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: Vietnam has recorded remarkable socio-economic progress over the past tenure, driven by the concerted efforts of ministries and localities to seize opportunities and overcome challenges under the leadership of the Party and Government, Politburo member and Standing Deputy Prime Minister Nguyễn Hoà Bình said.

Speaking at a group discussion during the preparatory session of the first Congress of the Government’s Party Organisation on Sunday, Bình, who also serves as the Standing Deputy Secretary of the Government Party Committee, said that these accomplishments were achieved despite unprecedented difficulties such as the global pandemic, severe natural disasters, and a complex and volatile regional landscape.

He emphasised the streamlining of the political system and the reorganisation of administrative units as major highlights of the tenure, noting that such efforts have garnered recognition and high praise from the international community.

According to the Deputy Prime Minister, the reorganisation of administrative units represents a strategic preparation for a new era—an era of acceleration and breakthroughs—creating greater space for growth, reducing bureaucracy, enhancing the quality of officials, and promoting stronger decentralisation to better serve the people.

Bình commended the valuable opinions of delegates, particularly on matters still under discussion, all aimed at identifying breakthrough solutions for national development and achieving double-digit growth within the set timeframe.

Delegates expressed strong support for the draft Political Report presented to the congress, noting that it was meticulously and scientifically prepared, providing a comprehensive and objective reflection of the achievements during the 2020–2025 term. The report also outlines clear, practical directions, goals, and solutions for the next term, including six key tasks and three strategic breakthroughs.

Participants also reviewed the draft documents to be submitted to the 14th National Party Congress, voicing strong endorsement of the assessment on the implementation of the 13th National Party Congress’s resolution, which recognised significant and wide-ranging accomplishments.

However, delegates also acknowledged existing shortcomings and limitations that must be addressed with determination. They underscored the need for the entire Party to make greater efforts to overcome these weaknesses and lead the nation into a new phase of rapid, sustainable development and continued national advancement.
