Vietnam’s Phạm Minh Chính Inspects Construction of Khánh Hòa – Buôn Ma Thuột Expressway
Hanoi, The Gulf Observer: On August 17, Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính conducted an inspection of the ongoing construction of the Khánh Hòa – Buôn Ma Thuột expressway in the central region of Vietnam. The expressway, spanning 117.5 kilometers, is scheduled to be completed and opened to traffic in 2027.
The construction project, which commenced in June 2023, is expected to be finalized by 2026. The total investment for the expressway is nearly VNĐ22 trillion (approximately US$877.89 million).
During his visit to the construction site in Hòa Đông Commune, Krông Pắc District, Đắk Lắk Province, Prime Minister Chính acknowledged the efforts of the engineers working on the project and presented them with gifts in recognition of their hard work.
The Prime Minister urged the involvement of the army, local organizations, and residents in supporting the construction efforts. He also emphasized the importance of local authorities in assisting residents who have been relocated to make way for the project.
In addition to Hòa Đông Commune, Prime Minister Chính visited sections of the expressway in Krông Pắc District’s Ea Yông and Vụ Bổn Communes, as well as Cư Elang Commune in Ea Kar District.
He recommended that local contractors participate in the bidding process for various project packages. The Prime Minister stressed the need for not only accelerating the construction progress but also enhancing inspections and supervision to ensure the project’s quality and maintain environmental standards.
Furthermore, Prime Minister Chính advised the provinces of Khánh Hòa and Đắk Lắk to promptly review the planning of urban areas and industrial parks to maximize the developmental benefits of the expressway.
The Khánh Hòa – Buôn Ma Thuột expressway is anticipated to significantly improve transportation infrastructure in the region, fostering economic development and connectivity.
