Wang Yi Emphasizes Border Port Construction and China-ASEAN Cooperation

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Wang Yi, Director of the Office of the Foreign Affairs Commission of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee and member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, emphasized the ongoing strengthening of border port construction and the promotion of high-level opening-up in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region during an inspection tour on Friday.

In his visit to South China’s Guangxi, Wang Yi reviewed relevant projects of China-ASEAN and China-Vietnam cooperation, underlining the importance of injecting new momentum into Guangxi’s high-level opening-up and China-ASEAN cooperation to facilitate the development of domestic and international markets in line with the dual circulation strategy.

Wang Yi stressed the need to actively support the development of a China-ASEAN community with a shared future, advocate for Belt and Road cooperation, enhance the reputation of the China-ASEAN Expo, and establish Guangxi as a vital international gateway to ASEAN.

Specifically addressing cooperation with Vietnam, Wang Yi highlighted the significance of strengthening exchanges and collaboration to reinforce China-Vietnam friendship. He emphasized the importance of improving cross-border infrastructure connectivity, developing efficient and secure border ports, and contributing to the strategic development of a China-Vietnam community with a shared future.

Furthermore, Wang Yi outlined plans to assist Guangxi in enhancing external connectivity, nurturing foreign affairs expertise, fostering international exchanges and cooperation, and supporting the region’s pursuit of high-quality development.

The directives provided by Wang Yi underscore China’s commitment to promoting regional cooperation, strengthening ties with ASEAN nations, and advancing the Belt and Road Initiative through Guangxi’s strategic role as a hub for international trade and cooperation.
