Wang Yi Meets with U.S.-China Business Council Delegation in Beijing

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with a delegation from the board of the U.S.-China Business Council (USCBC) in Beijing on Monday. The delegation is on a week-long visit to China to gain firsthand insights following the conclusion of the third plenary session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC).

During the meeting, Wang, who is also a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, reiterated China’s firm stance on comprehensively deepening reform and promoting Chinese modernization. He highlighted the global significance of the recently concluded third plenary session of the 20th CPC Central Committee.

“You are the first delegation from the U.S. business community to visit China after the plenum. You can feel the new atmosphere of China’s further deepening reform in an all-round way from the first time,” Wang remarked. “We follow the right path chosen by the Chinese people. We will neither copy foreign models nor export Chinese models. We are ready to strengthen exchanges and integration with other countries on the basis of equality and mutual respect.”

Emphasizing the importance of the China-U.S. relationship, Wang expressed hope that the U.S. business community would continue to collaborate with China for mutual development and contribute to the enhancement of China-U.S. relations and the friendship between the two nations. He reiterated that China handles its affairs with the U.S. based on the principles of mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, and win-win cooperation.

China remains committed to strengthening cooperation, managing differences, expanding dialogue, and striving for stable and forward-moving China-U.S. relations, Wang stressed. He also urged the USCBC and its member companies to leverage their influence to present a comprehensive and accurate picture of China to promote a correct understanding of China in the United States. This includes addressing economic, trade, and technological concerns and promoting people-to-people and cultural exchanges.

The U.S. delegation acknowledged that the plenum is expected to stimulate a new round of economic reform and opening up in China, attracting more sustainable foreign investment. They expressed confidence in deepening cooperation with China in various fields, including economy, trade, investment, green development, health, education, and people-to-people exchanges.

The U.S. business community is committed to building a strong, balanced U.S.-China relationship, the delegation noted. The USCBC expressed its willingness to act as a stabilizing force for developing U.S.-China relations and to actively exert its influence to promote this goal.
