Zayed Higher Organisation Honors Emirati Series “Ashhafan” with Inclusive Theatrical Adaptation
Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has honored the legacy of the classic 1976 Emirati series Ashhafan by presenting a theatrical adaptation, Ashhafan Family, at the Ahmed Mangoush Theatre at ZHO’s headquarters. Over three days, actors from People of Determination performed the play, supported by the Abu Dhabi Heritage Authority and Akkasa Media Production, celebrating nearly five decades of Gulf drama heritage.
Officials from ZHO emphasized the value of art in fostering social cohesion and human values, highlighting the role of People of Determination in arts and culture. They described Ashhafan Family as a creative and inclusive platform, reconnecting audiences with beloved characters and shedding light on Gulf families’ contemporary challenges, including the influence of social media on family relationships.
The original cast members attended the tribute, expressing gratitude for the recognition and applauding ZHO’s efforts to empower People of Determination across various sectors. Directed by Mohammed Saeed and written by Abdullah Saleh, the adaptation features prominent actors, including Sultan Al Siyabi, Ghaya Said, Muzna Ahmed, and Mariam Hamdan.
Dignitaries present included Abdullah Al Humaidan, Secretary-General of ZHO, and other senior officials. The event reflects ZHO’s commitment to integrating People of Determination into the arts through its Talented Determination initiative, aimed at nurturing artistic talent and fostering social inclusion on both local and international stages.
