Zionist Assassinations Aim to Compensate for Gaza Defeats: Iranian Speaker
Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf has accused the Zionist regime of resorting to the assassination of resistance commanders in an attempt to compensate for its defeats in Gaza and to divert attention from its crimes in the besieged Palestinian territory.
In a message to Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah on Saturday, Qalibaf extended his condolences over the martyrdom of senior Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr, who was killed in an Israeli airstrike in southern Beirut on Tuesday, July 30.
Qalibaf stated that the airstrike, coupled with the assassination of Hamas political leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran the following day, as well as the ongoing killing of children in Gaza, underscores the aggressive and brutal nature of the Israeli regime. He emphasized that these actions highlight the illegitimate foundation of the Zionist entity.
The Parliament Speaker expressed his belief that the sacrifices of Hezbollah commander Fuad Shukr and other martyrs of the resistance front will pave the way for the liberation of occupied territories and signal the end of Zionist aggression.
Qalibaf also conveyed his hope that, under the wise leadership of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, and through the efforts of Hezbollah fighters and other resistance groups, the region will witness the elimination of what he described as the “cancerous tumor” of the Israeli regime.
