The professional holiday of cinema workers in Azerbaijan was established by the Decree of National Leader Heydar Aliyev on December 18, 2000. Over the years, “Azerbaijanfilm” has produced more than two thousand films spanning various types and genres, highlighting the industry’s growth and diversity.

Azerbaijani cinematography has traversed a remarkable development journey, marked by significant events and achievements. As part of the celebrations, August 2nd, known as Azerbaijan Cinema Day, will be commemorated with a series of events throughout the country, reflecting the enduring legacy and vibrant future of Azerbaijani cinema.
