126th Anniversary of Azerbaijani Cinema Celebrated Today

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Today marks the 126th anniversary of the creation of Azerbaijani cinema, according to media reports. This milestone is a testament to the rich history and development of cinema in Azerbaijan, which began in 1898.

The professional holiday of cinema workers in Azerbaijan was established by the Decree of National Leader Heydar Aliyev on December 18, 2000. Over the years, “Azerbaijanfilm” has produced more than two thousand films spanning various types and genres, highlighting the industry’s growth and diversity.

Azerbaijani cinematography has traversed a remarkable development journey, marked by significant events and achievements. As part of the celebrations, August 2nd, known as Azerbaijan Cinema Day, will be commemorated with a series of events throughout the country, reflecting the enduring legacy and vibrant future of Azerbaijani cinema.
