2024 World Youth Development Forum Opens in Beijing

Beijing, The Gulf Observer: The 2024 World Youth Development Forum officially commenced in Beijing on Monday, coinciding with International Youth Day. The event has brought together more than 2,000 young people from over 130 countries and 20 international organizations, participating both online and on-site.

The opening ceremony and plenary meeting saw the gathering of more than 500 young leaders and youth representatives, marking the beginning of a week-long series of discussions and activities. The forum participants will also visit other Chinese cities, including Nanning and Hangzhou, where they will engage in discussions on topics such as green development, digital development, cultural inheritance and innovation, and youth-oriented urban development.

Themed “Together for a Better Future,” the forum aims to harness the collective energy of youth to advance the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the Global Development Initiative. The event is expected to serve as a vital platform for young leaders to share insights and collaborate on solutions for global challenges.

The forum is co-hosted by the All-China Youth Federation, the United Nations in China, and the forum’s organizing committee. This year’s forum marks the second edition of the event, following its inaugural session in 2022.
