UAE President Meets with President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, held a high-level meeting today with His Excellency Félix Tshisekedi, President of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), who is currently on a working visit to the UAE.

The meeting, held at Qasr Al Shati in Abu Dhabi, focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring new avenues for collaboration in key sectors aimed at fostering development and prosperity in both nations.

During the talks, His Highness welcomed President Tshisekedi and expressed his hope that the visit would deepen the ties between the UAE and the DRC for the benefit of their peoples. He conveyed his best wishes for continued peace, growth, and prosperity for the DRC and its citizens.

The two leaders discussed expanding cooperation in various fields, including development, trade and investment, the economy, and renewable energy. They also explored opportunities in other vital sectors that contribute to sustainable development in both countries. Additionally, the discussions covered a range of issues of mutual interest, along with an exchange of views on recent regional and international developments.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with African nations, emphasizing the importance of advancing mutual interests, promoting stability, and fostering prosperity across the continent.

President Tshisekedi expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed, praising the UAE’s collaboration with the DRC and its broader humanitarian and developmental efforts across Africa, as well as its initiatives to assist communities affected by crises around the world.

The meeting was attended by several high-ranking officials, including H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohamed bin Zayed, Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs; Sheikh Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; and Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Advisor for Special Affairs at the Presidential Court. The President of the DRC was accompanied by a delegation from his country.
