Jeddah, The Gulf Observer: The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, presided over the Cabinet session held Tuesday in Jeddah, during which the Council reviewed Saudi Arabia’s international engagements, local policy achievements, and ratified several strategic agreements and regulatory amendments.

At the outset, the Cabinet highlighted the Kingdom’s active participation in prominent regional and international forums. In particular, it commended Saudi Arabia’s contributions at the World Summit on the Information Society held in Switzerland, where the Kingdom reiterated its commitment to advancing digital cooperation and promoting sustainable development through cutting-edge technologies.

On the domestic front, the Council acknowledged the progress achieved under the Financial Sector Development Program and the Human Capability Development Program, praising their effectiveness in bolstering financial sustainability and equipping Saudi nationals with the skills needed for global competitiveness.

The Cabinet also lauded the strategic integration of artificial intelligence into public education curricula, viewing it as a forward-looking initiative to prepare future generations with essential digital competencies.

In the tourism sector, the Council celebrated the Kingdom’s leading global position in international tourism revenue growth during the first quarter of 2025, underscoring Saudi Arabia’s rapid development as a major player in the global tourism industry.

Turning to environmental issues, the Cabinet expressed appreciation for the international recognition received during the United Nations High-Level Meeting on Sand and Dust Storms, particularly commending the Kingdom’s advancements in early warning systems and its contributions to scientific cooperation in environmental resilience.

In legislative and cooperative matters, the Cabinet approved a range of agreements, including:

  • A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the United Arab Emirates in the financial sector;
  • Agreements with Somalia concerning the recruitment of domestic and general labor;
  • An MoU with Denmark for cooperation in logistics services;
  • An MoU with the Arab Administrative Development Organization on educational assessment and accreditation.

The Cabinet further ratified amendments to the Documentation, Arbitration, and Legal Practice laws, aligning them with the newly implemented Civil Transactions Law, thereby enhancing legal consistency and procedural clarity.

Additionally, the Council approved the Medical Referrals Center Regulation and a three-year extension of the Easy Mortgage Program, reaffirming its commitment to improving healthcare services and expanding access to housing for Saudi citizens.

The Cabinet session reflects Saudi Arabia’s continued momentum in policy innovation, international cooperation, and comprehensive development aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 objectives.
