Abdullah bin Zayed Meets US Secretary of State at Gaza Humanitarian Conference

Amman, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with US Secretary of State Antony Blinken on the sidelines of the “Call for Action: Urgent Humanitarian Response for Gaza” Conference. The event was held at the King Hussein Bin Talal Convention Centre in the Dead Sea, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The two diplomats discussed several critical issues related to the conference agenda, focusing on regional and international diplomatic efforts to achieve a ceasefire, protect civilians, and ensure a sustainable humanitarian response for those in the Gaza Strip.
Sheikh Abdullah praised the recent proposals by US President Joe Biden for a ceasefire in Gaza, which led to the UN Security Council adopting a US-drafted resolution based on these proposals.
His Highness emphasized the necessity of serious and positive engagement with these efforts to halt escalation, safeguard civilian lives, and address the severe humanitarian crisis impacting Gaza’s population.
The meeting was also attended by Lana Nusseibeh, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs, highlighting the UAE’s commitment to international cooperation in addressing the humanitarian needs in Gaza.
