Abdullah bin Zayed Meets US Senior Advisor in Washington to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Washington, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, met with Massad Boulos, Senior Advisor to the US President for Arab and African Affairs, during his working visit to Washington.
The two sides reviewed the strategic relations between the United Arab Emirates and the United States, exploring avenues to further enhance cooperation across various sectors in support of their mutual interests and in a manner that reinforces security and stability at regional and international levels.
Sheikh Abdullah underscored the depth and diversity of the UAE-US strategic partnership, highlighting the importance of building upon existing collaborations and deepening engagement in priority sectors to advance sustainable development in both friendly nations.
Discussions also focused on expanding UAE-US cooperation across the African continent and strengthening joint coordination to support development and stability initiatives in African countries. Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the need to ensure complementarity between the development initiatives of both nations and to enhance joint action with regional and international partners to promote sustainable development, peace, and stability in Africa.
The meeting addressed the tragic developments of the civil war in Sudan, stressing the urgent need for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian assistance to civilians to alleviate their suffering.
In this context, Sheikh Abdullah commended the leadership efforts of US President Donald Trump to prevent Sudan from descending further into extremism, division, and an escalating humanitarian crisis. He also expressed appreciation to the United States for hosting the humanitarian conference and the Quad meeting, describing them as significant steps to sustain international engagement amid the protracted conflict and its severe humanitarian repercussions.
Sheikh Abdullah further praised the efforts of Massad Boulos and his close follow-up on the Sudan file, acknowledging his role in supporting initiatives aimed at achieving a ceasefire, strengthening humanitarian response efforts, protecting civilians, advancing the political solution process, and facilitating the establishment of an independent civilian government.
Reaffirming the UAE’s steadfast commitment, Sheikh Abdullah emphasized continued cooperation with the United States and regional and international partners to promote dialogue, de-escalation, and sustainable political solutions, contributing to enhanced security and development for the peoples of the region and the world.
The meeting was attended by Shakhboot bin Nahyan Al Nahyan, Minister of State; Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Minister of State; and Yousef Al Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States.
