Abdullah bin Zayed Visits National Institute of Education in Singapore

Singapore, The Gulf Observer: H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the United Arab Emirates, visited the National Institute of Education (NIE) in Singapore today as part of his working visit to the Republic of Singapore. He was accompanied by Jamal Abdullah Al Suwaidi, UAE Ambassador to Singapore, and Saeed Mubarak Al Hajeri, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Economic and Commercial Affairs.

Upon arrival at the institute’s headquarters, Sheikh Abdullah was warmly received by Professor Christine Goh, Director of the NIE. During his visit, Sheikh Abdullah toured the institute’s facilities, gaining insights into its comprehensive programs that are based on modern scientific methods and future forecasting. Founded in 1950, the NIE has established itself as a leader in shaping and developing Singapore’s educational system and modern teaching methods.

Sheikh Abdullah praised the NIE for its excellence and leadership in education and educational research, highlighting its role as one of the world’s leading academic institutions. “This prominent educational institution reflects Singapore’s rich and leading educational system, which is a fundamental pillar of the state’s development efforts in all fields,” he stated.

Sheikh Abdullah emphasized the UAE’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Singapore in the education sector within the framework of the comprehensive partnership between the two countries. He noted that education is the cornerstone of sustainable development, progress, and the protection of national gains.

The visit underscores the UAE’s dedication to fostering international collaboration in education, recognizing its pivotal role in driving sustainable development and innovation.
