Abu Dhabi Judicial Department Honored with 2023 Cloud Infrastructure Innovation Award

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department has clinched the prestigious 2023 Cloud Infrastructure Innovation Award from multinational company VMware.

This esteemed accolade applauds the department’s groundbreaking strides in utilizing cloud computing to revolutionize the justice system in Abu Dhabi.

Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Abri, the undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, attributed these outstanding achievements to the visionary leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Al Abri emphasized how this vision is embodied in streamlined procedures and easily accessible services, empowering citizens and businesses across the region. He stated, “Our commitment to excellence is further validated by the numerous awards and quality certifications we’ve earned.”

Al Abri underscored the department’s dedication to adopting the most stringent international standards, part of its digital transformation efforts to leverage technological advancements for quick, efficient, and innovative services. This aligns with the directives of the Abu Dhabi government to achieve excellence and leadership in judicial services.

Ahmed Ibrahim Al Marzouqi, the Executive Director of the Administrative Support Sector at the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department, highlighted the department’s substantial progress in cloud computing and technical infrastructure development. He revealed that over 80% of the department’s servers are virtual, a remarkable achievement contributing to the receipt of the Cloud Infrastructure Innovation Award.

Al Marzouqi detailed the journey, explaining that the department initiated the establishment of internal cloud computing in 2016 to meet the growing needs for virtual servers, whether for databases or applications. By 2020, the infrastructure was fully operational, enhancing business continuity between the primary and backup data centers.
