Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The stage is set for a thrilling global aquatic showdown as the 2025 CMAS World Cup Finswimming Indoor kicks off from October 31 to November 2 at the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club’s Olympic pool. Organisers have confirmed the participation of 400 male and female finswimmers representing 20 countries, making it one of the most anticipated events in the international finswimming calendar.

The championship will feature elite athletes from around the world, including UAE-based Colombian star Mauricio Fernández, promising an exciting spectacle of speed, precision, and endurance in the water.

Organised by the Abu Dhabi Aquatics Club under the authority of CMAS (World Underwater Federation), the event will host competitions across senior (18 & over) and junior (12–17) categories. A wide array of races will be conducted, including both individual and relay events, showcasing finswimming’s diverse range of distances and techniques.

In a groundbreaking move, this year’s edition will honour the top three finishers in the (12–13), (14–15), and (16–17) age groups for the first time in the history of the World Cup. This initiative reflects the organising committee’s commitment to advancing finswimming in the UAE, encouraging young talent, and fostering a more inclusive and competitive environment for aspiring athletes.

With strong international participation and a clear focus on youth development, the 2025 CMAS World Cup Finswimming Indoor is set to enhance the UAE’s growing reputation as a premier host of global aquatic sports events.
