Baku, The Gulf Observer: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation on March 19, during which they exchanged greetings and discussed bilateral and regional matters of mutual interest.

President Mirziyoyev extended his congratulations to President Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on the upcoming holy month of Ramadan and the Novruz holiday, conveying his best wishes for peace and prosperity. President Aliyev expressed his appreciation and reciprocated the greetings, wishing continued development and well-being for Uzbekistan and its people.

The two leaders reviewed the strategic allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan, commending the steady progress in cooperation across various sectors and reaffirming their commitment to further strengthening bilateral ties.

They also discussed the evolving situation in the Middle East, expressing concern over rising tensions and underscoring the importance of resolving disputes through political and diplomatic means.
