Ambassador of Romania Visits Proposed Site for Future Honorary Consulate in Karachi

Karachi, The Gulf Observer: The Ambassador of Romania to Pakistan, H.E. Dan Stoenescu, paid a visit today to the proposed headquarters of the future Honorary Consulate of Romania in Karachi. The new consulate will cover the entire Sindh Governorate, marking a significant milestone in Romania’s ongoing efforts to enhance its diplomatic and economic engagement in southern Pakistan.

During his visit, Ambassador Stoenescu emphasized that the initiative reflects Romania’s firm commitment to deepening its partnership with Pakistan, particularly in a region that holds immense potential for trade, cultural exchange, and people-to-people connectivity.

Highlighting Karachi’s strategic importance as Pakistan’s largest metropolis and commercial capital, he noted that the city serves as a vital maritime and economic hub, home to major industries, ports, and universities. The re-establishment of Romania’s Honorary Consulate, he said, will provide a strong platform to foster cooperation between Romanian and Pakistani business communities, encourage cultural and academic collaborations, and extend consular services to Romanian citizens and partners across Sindh.

“I am confident that the future Honorary Consulate of Romania in Karachi will serve as a bridge of friendship and partnership between our two nations — enhancing dialogue, cooperation, and mutual understanding,” Ambassador Stoenescu remarked.

The initiative underscores Romania’s growing diplomatic footprint in Pakistan and its commitment to expanding bilateral ties built on shared interests, mutual respect, and long-term cooperation.
