Amir of Qatar and Swedish Prime Minister Hold Official Talks in Stockholm

Stockholm, The Gulf Observer: His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and His Excellency Ulf Kristersson, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Sweden, held a session of official talks on Tuesday at the Government seat “Rosenbad” in Stockholm.

At the outset of the session, Prime Minister Kristersson extended a warm welcome to His Highness the Amir and the accompanying Qatari delegation, expressing his wishes for a pleasant stay and the continued strengthening of bilateral relations across various sectors. In response, His Highness the Amir expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reaffirmed his commitment to enhancing and developing friendly relations and cooperation with Sweden in ways that serve the mutual interests of both nations and their peoples.

The talks focused on the enhancement of bilateral relations, particularly in the fields of investment, economy, energy, and international cooperation. The leaders also reviewed regional and international developments, with particular emphasis on the situation in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories. They exchanged views on several issues of common interest, underscoring the importance of continued dialogue and collaboration.

The session was attended by prominent officials from both sides. Representing Qatar were Chief of the Amiri Diwan His Excellency Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of State for Energy Affairs His Excellency Engineer Saad bin Sherida Al Kaabi, Minister of Commerce and Industry His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, and Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Her Excellency Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, along with other distinguished members of the official delegation.

On the Swedish side, the session was attended by Minister for Foreign Affairs His Excellency Tobias Billstrom, Minister for Defense His Excellency Pål Jonson, Minister for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade His Excellency Johan Forssell, Minister for Social Services Her Excellency Camilla Grönvall, and several senior officials.

Earlier in the day, His Highness the Amir and Prime Minister Kristersson held a bilateral meeting, during which they discussed various issues of mutual interest, further solidifying the cooperative bond between Qatar and Sweden.
