Amir of Qatar, Hungarian PM hold official talks
Budapest, The Gulf Observer: The Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and HE Viktor Orban, Prime Minister of Hungary, held an official session of talks at the Prime Minister’s headquarters in Budapest, today.
At the beginning of the session, the Hungarian Prime Minister expressed his personal welcome and the Hungarian government’s welcome to His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation, hoping that His Highness’ visit would contribute to the development and strengthening of relations between the two countries.
For his part, His Highness the Amir thanked the Prime Minister for the invitation and warm reception, expressing his aspiration to develop bilateral relations in various fields. His Highness also expressed his happiness over his visit to Hungary and the great development he saw in the sports infrastructure in Budapest, which is in the interest of sports and athletes.
During the session, they discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and ways to enhance and develop them in various fields, especially in the fields of economy, investment and energy, in addition to discussing the most important regional and international issues and developments of common concern.
The session was attended by HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad Al Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee; HE Sheikh Sauud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Head of the Amiri Diwan, HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, HE Lulwa bint Rashid Al Khater, Minister of State for International Cooperation, and a number of members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir.
On the Hungarian side, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade HE Peter Szijjarto, Minister of Finance and Deputy Prime Minister HE Mihaly Varga, Minister of Economic Development HE Marton Nagy, and a number of senior officials attended the session from the Hungarian side.
Before the talks, His Highness the Amir and the Prime Minister of Hungary held a bilateral meeting, during which they exchanged views on a number of issues of concern to both sides.
The Hungarian Prime Minister held an official luncheon in honour of His Highness the Amir and members of the official delegation accompanying him.
