Amir of Qatar Inaugurates 22nd Doha Forum Under the Theme “The Innovation Imperative”
Doha, The Gulf Observer: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani inaugurated the 22nd edition of the Doha Forum 2024 this morning at the Sheraton Doha Hotel, under the theme “The Innovation Imperative.” The high-profile event brought together global leaders, policymakers, academics, and professionals from diverse sectors to address pressing global challenges through innovation and collaboration.
The opening ceremony was attended by a distinguished lineup of international leaders, including HE Bassirou Diomaye Faye, President of Senegal; HE Luis Rodolfo Abinader, President of the Dominican Republic; HE Dr. Nangolo Mbumba, President of Namibia; HE Zeljka Cvijanovic, Chairwoman of Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency; HE Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, President of Kazakhstan; HE Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda; and HE Faustin-Archange Touadera, President of the Central African Republic.
Key dignitaries also included HE Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, Prime Minister of Egypt; HE Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines; HE Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados; HE Dennis Francis, President of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly; and HE Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the GCC, alongside heads of delegations, ministers, diplomats, and regional and international organization representatives.
During the forum, HH the Amir presented the prestigious Doha Forum Award to several individuals for their exceptional contributions to journalism and media, including Wael Al Dahdouh, Carmen Joukhadar, Moataz Azaiza, Dylan Collins, Christina Assi, and Sadaf Popalzai.
Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani delivered a keynote address, emphasizing the importance of innovation in addressing global challenges. Another highlight of the event was the keynote speech by the First Lady of the United States, HE Dr. Jill Biden, who underlined the transformative power of collaboration and innovation in fostering a better future.
