Amir of Qatar, Kazakh President hold official talks session
Astana, The Gulf Observer: The Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the friendly Republic of Kazakhstan HE Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held an official talks session on Wednesday at the Akorda Presidential Palace in Astana.
At the outset of the session, HE the President of Kazakhstan expressed his warm welcome to HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation, appreciating HH the Amir’s acceptance of the invitation to participate in the Astana International Forum.
His Excellency also expressed his aspiration to strengthen cooperation relations between the two friendly countries at all levels, considering Qatar one of Kazakhstan’s most important partners in the Middle East, while pointing to the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, which coincides with this year.
For his part, HH the Amir expressed his sincere thanks to HE the President for the warm reception, noting that this is his third visit to Kazakhstan through which he looks forward to advancing friendship and cooperation relations to broader horizons in light of the enormous potentials and opportunities of the two countries in various fields to achieve the interests of the two friendly peoples.
The talks also dealt with developing and strengthening cooperation relations, in addition to exchanging views on the most important regional and international developments of common concern.
The official talks session was attended by Chief of the Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of Their Excellencies members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir.
On the Kazakh side, it was attended by Kazakh Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister HE Murat Nurtleu, First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration HE Timur Suleimenov, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade and Integration of Republic of Kazakhstan HE Serik Zhumangarin, and a number of senior officials.
HE the President of Kazakhstan held a dinner banquet in honor of HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation.
