Amir of Qatar meets US Secretary of State at Lusail Palace

Doha, Qatar: The Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met today at Lusail Palace with the US Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, who is currently visiting the country.

The meeting dealt with discussing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, the ways to enhance and develop them in all fields, and a number of regional and international issues of joint interest, particularly developments in the Palestinian territories and humanitarian conditions there.

HH the Amir stressed during the meeting the importance of efforts aimed at de-escalation, opening safe corridors in Gaza for aid and humanitarian efforts, and ensuring the conflict does not expand regionally. HH the Amir also stressed the State of Qatar’s firm position on condemning the targeting of civilians.

The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani.
