Amir of Qatar receives phone call from Biden
Doha, The Gulf Observer: The Amir of Qatar HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a phone call Sunday from the President of the United States of America, HE Joe Biden.
During the call, the latest developments in the situation in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories were reviewed, and strategic relations between the two friendly countries were discussed, in addition to regional and international developments of joint interest.
During the call, HE the US President expressed his thanks and appreciation to HH the Amir for the diplomatic efforts of the State of Qatar regarding the situation in Gaza, and its effective and positive role in promoting peace and stability in the Middle East.
For his part, HH the Amir stressed the necessity of an immediate ceasefire, end to bloodshed, protection of civilians in Gaza, and the permanent opening of the Rafah crossing to ensure the flow of relief and humanitarian aid convoys to the Palestinian brothers besieged in the Gaza Strip.
His Highness also affirmed the continued diplomatic efforts of the State of Qatar to reduce the escalation, including its efforts to release hostages and open the Rafah crossing to foreigners and relief aid, appreciating the role of the United States of America in this context.
