Arab Nations Call for Ceasefire and End to Israeli Aggression on Gaza

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: A consultative meeting of major Arab countries in the region, convened by Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan in Riyadh on Thursday, has collectively called for an immediate and complete ceasefire, urging an end to Israeli aggression on Gaza. The meeting addressed the escalating situation in the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, with attendees including Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani, UAE’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Al-Safadi, Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sameh Shukri, and Palestine’s Secretary of the Executive Committee and Minister of Civil Affairs Hussein Al-Sheikh.
The foreign ministers emphasized the imperative need to halt the hostilities in Gaza, ensuring the immediate implementation of a comprehensive ceasefire. They called for the protection of civilians in adherence to international humanitarian law and the removal of all restrictions hindering the entry of humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip. The ministers pledged their support for the humanitarian efforts of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
In addition, the meeting urged supporters to actively contribute to humanitarian missions for Palestinian refugees. Emphasizing the two-state solution, the ministers stressed the significance of taking irreversible steps to implement it, recognizing the State of Palestine based on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, as per relevant international resolutions. The meeting reiterated the Gaza Strip’s integral part of the occupied Palestinian territory and categorically rejected all forced displacement operations.
This united call from major Arab nations underscores their commitment to peace, humanitarian relief, and a diplomatic resolution to the ongoing conflict, reaffirming their collective stance against aggression and in support of the rights and well-being of the Palestinian people.
