Astana, The Gulf Observer: Landmark buildings across Astana have been illuminated with warm orange lights in solidarity with the global campaign “16 Days Against Violence,” the Ministry of Culture and Information announced.

The color orange, symbolizing warmth, hope, and unity, serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of protecting human rights and maintaining zero tolerance toward all forms of violence. Throughout the campaign period, key locations in the Kazakh capital are glowing in orange, transforming the cityscape into a visual call for awareness and action.

According to the ministry, each illuminated site stands as a visible symbol of support for victims and individuals at risk, underscoring the nation’s commitment to creating safer communities and fostering a culture of respect and protection.

Kazakhstan has officially joined the United Nations-led initiative, reinforcing its alignment with international efforts to prevent violence and promote public engagement on the issue. The nationwide participation aims to encourage dialogue, strengthen prevention measures, and inspire collective responsibility across all segments of society.

The “16 Days Against Violence” campaign runs annually from November 25 to December 10, coinciding with the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women and Human Rights Day.
