Astana National Museum showcases carpets crafted by Kazakhs of Afghanistan

Astana, The Gulf Observer: The National Museum of Kazakhstan recently hosted the inauguration ceremony for an exhibition featuring carpets crafted by the Kazakhs of Afghanistan, as reported by the Kazakh Ministry of Culture and Sport. This culturally significant event aimed to showcase the artistic and artisanal contributions of the Kazakh community in Afghanistan, highlighting the rich heritage embedded in their carpet-making traditions. The exhibition at the National Museum provided a platform for the public to appreciate the craftsmanship and cultural narratives woven into each carpet, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for the shared cultural tapestry between Kazakhstan and its diaspora in Afghanistan.
The exhibition titled as In the Arms of Happiness showcases the carpets of Nasim Nayman Qazaq Karpet company, led by Nasim Nayman who has been involved in carpet weaving since childhood. His works contribute to the development of handmade carpets production in Afghanistan.
Welcoming the guests, Academic Secretary of the National Museum Sayalbek Gizatov said that the doors of the Museum always welcomes the events aimed at the development of folk crafts.
The exhibition displays the carpets made by our brothers from Afghanistan. They not only contribute to the development of this art, but also promote it at the global level.
