Astana Welcomes the Festive Season with Spectacular New Year Tree Lighting Ceremony
Astana, The Gulf Observer: Over a thousand people gathered at the Astana Arena stadium on Wednesday evening to witness the annual New Year tree lighting ceremony, marking the start of the holiday season in Kazakhstan’s capital. This year’s centerpiece, a magnificent 25-meter-high tree, captivated attendees with its natural shape and dazzling decorations.
Elnar Bazyken, Deputy Director of Astanagenplan, highlighted the tree’s unique charm, adorned with approximately 3,000 ornaments, countless garlands, and radiant lights cascading down its sides. “The natural shape and intricate decorations make this year’s tree truly special,” Bazyken noted.
The festive ceremony began at 8 p.m. and featured a variety of entertainment options for attendees of all ages. Visitors enjoyed ice rinks, slides, and dedicated photograph spaces, creating a vibrant and joyful atmosphere.
In addition to the main event at Astana Arena, New Year trees were simultaneously lit in six other locations across the city. In total, over 30 New Year trees are set to illuminate the capital, bringing holiday cheer to residents and visitors alike.
