AUS and Sharjah National Oil Corporation Collaborate to Enhance Engineering Education

Sharjah, The Gulf Observer: The American University of Sharjah (AUS) College of Engineering (CEN) and the Sharjah National Oil Corporation (SNOC) have formalized a partnership through a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA), signed recently.

Operating within the framework of the AUS Engineering Al Nukhba (elite) Programme, the agreement outlines SNOC’s commitment to supporting the training of AUS students. This support includes offering internships essential for graduation, providing students with hands-on experience to complement their academic studies and enriching their practical understanding of the oil and gas industry.

As part of this collaboration, SNOC and AUS will jointly supervise select student capstone projects, fostering innovation and enhancing practical problem-solving skills among the students. Furthermore, SNOC experts will share their insights in areas crucial for the students’ professional growth, contributing to a comprehensive educational experience.

The partnership extends beyond student training to lay the foundation for joint research and development projects. By combining the academic expertise of AUS with the industry experience of SNOC, the collaboration aims to address key challenges in the oil and gas sector.

Dr. Fadi Aloul, Dean of the AUS College of Engineering, highlighted the significance of this collaboration, stating, “This collaboration with SNOC enhances our engineering students’ educational journey, building upon our firm relationship.
