Azerbaijan and Armenia Extend Gratitude to Kazakhstan for Facilitating Peace Talks Platform

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov and Kazakhstan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Murat Nurtleu, convened in Almaty on May 10 to discuss measures aimed at fortifying strategic alliances and enhancing commercial ties between their respective nations. Concurrently, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan orchestrated a pivotal meeting gathering ministers from Azerbaijan and Armenia for bilateral discussions, marking a significant stride towards bolstering strategic partnerships and fostering the peace process, as per media reports.

The rendezvous between Jeyhun Bayramov, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Murat Nurtleu, the Deputy Prime Minister-Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, was centered on amplifying the strategic collaboration between Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan. The deliberations also encompassed concerted endeavors to foster trade and economic cooperation along with the development of transport infrastructure.

Emphasizing the prevailing regional dynamics, Minister Jeyhun Bayramov conveyed gratitude to the Kazakh counterpart for extending support to the peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia. Both sides articulated confidence in the constructive impact of the day’s deliberations on issue resolution.

Subsequently, the foreign ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia convened at the House of Friendship in Almaty for bilateral negotiations. This historic venue, notable for witnessing the signing of the Alma-Ata Declaration in 1991, served once more as a locus for deliberating critical matters concerning regional security and stability.

Kazakh Foreign Minister Murat Nurtleu underscored Kazakhstan’s role as an intermediary nation, positioning Azerbaijan and Armenia not solely as close neighbors but also as pivotal strategic allies. He extended well wishes to both parties for productive deliberations and confidential dialogues.

Acknowledging the Kazakh initiative in providing a negotiation platform, representatives from Azerbaijan and Armenia expressed gratitude and commended the event’s meticulous organization.
