Azerbaijan and Bulgaria Discuss Strategic Partnership and Energy Cooperation in Baku

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Jeyhun Bayramov, held a meeting with H.E. Elena Shekerletova, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria, to discuss various dimensions of the Azerbaijan-Bulgaria strategic partnership.

The meeting focused on key areas of cooperation, including economic development, trade, energy security, green energy, humanitarian efforts, and cultural exchanges. Both sides reviewed current collaborations and explored concrete steps to further enhance bilateral relations.

Minister Bayramov and Deputy Minister Shekerletova emphasized the importance of high-level reciprocal visits and continuous political dialogue in advancing the strategic partnership. In this context, they highlighted the essential role played by the Joint Commission on Trade-Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation in deepening ties between the two countries.

The two officials also stressed the significance of joint initiatives to ensure Europe’s energy security. They discussed expanding collaboration in the energy sector, particularly through the development and implementation of green energy projects.

Minister Bayramov briefed the Bulgarian delegation on post-conflict regional developments, including Azerbaijan’s comprehensive restoration and demining efforts in its liberated territories, as well as ongoing normalization talks with Armenia.

The meeting also addressed other matters of mutual interest in the regional and international context.

On the same day, political consultations were held between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Bulgaria. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Fariz Rzayev, while the Bulgarian side was headed by Deputy Minister Elena Shekerletova. The consultations served as a platform to review bilateral relations and coordinate positions on regional and international issues.
