Azerbaijan and Pakistan Praise Strategic Cooperation
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Jeyhun Bayramov, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, held a meeting with Qasim Mohiuddin, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan to Azerbaijan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Qasim Mohiuddin presented a copy of his credentials to Minister Jeyhun Bayramov. The minister congratulated the ambassador on his appointment and wished him success in his future endeavors. In response, Ambassador Mohiuddin emphasized his commitment to enhancing the relations between Azerbaijan and Pakistan.
The discussions between the two officials covered the current strategic partnership agenda, the implementation of agreements from the recent official visit of the President of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, and future plans. Both parties praised the strategic cooperation between the two nations and underscored the importance of deepening collaboration across various sectors.
The meeting highlighted the significance of the trilateral meeting held on July 3, 2024, between the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Türkiye and the Prime Minister of Pakistan. This trilateral format is seen as a crucial element in promoting regional and global peace and stability, as well as advancing the development of the three countries’ peoples.
Minister Bayramov and Ambassador Mohiuddin also stressed the importance of mutual support in multilateral forums, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. Minister Bayramov congratulated the ambassador on Pakistan’s election to the UN Security Council for the 2025-2026 term.
Furthermore, the meeting underscored the potential for high-level contacts between the two countries within the framework of the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29). Both sides exchanged views on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
