Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia Explore Potential for Demining Cooperation

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia are poised to enhance cooperation in demining efforts, according to Azerbaijani Ambassador to Riyadh, Shahin Abdullayev. The ambassador made these remarks during a meeting with Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah, Advisor at the Royal Court and General Supervisor of the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

During the meeting, Ambassador Abdullayev highlighted the extensive mine terror inflicted by Armenia in the occupied territories over the past 30 years and the ongoing demining operations in the Karabakh region. He acknowledged the significant support provided by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center in global demining activities and expressed gratitude for the assistance extended to Azerbaijan.

Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Rabeeah affirmed the potential for robust cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Azerbaijan in the field of demining, as well as in various humanitarian initiatives. He reiterated the Kingdom’s commitment to implementing new joint projects with Azerbaijan, reflecting the strong ties between the two friendly nations.

This meeting underscores the shared commitment of Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia to address the challenges posed by landmines and to collaborate on humanitarian efforts to ensure safer, more secure environments in affected regions.
