Azerbaijan and Turkiye Discuss Regional Cooperation and Security
Istanbul, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan, in Istanbul on Friday to discuss regional and international cooperation within the framework of their allied Baku-Ankara relations. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 3+3 regional consultative format, according to a statement by the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry.
During the talks, the two top diplomats exchanged views on the post-conflict situation in the region and addressed various global security challenges. The discussions underscored the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the two nations through regional formats and organizations.
“I was delighted to have a comprehensive discussion with my brother Hakan Fidan. We reiterated the importance of utilizing existing opportunities to enhance cooperation in various regional formats and organizations,” Minister Bayramov posted on X (formerly Twitter), following the meeting.
Bayramov also briefed his Turkish counterpart on the ongoing normalization process between Azerbaijan and Armenia, including the current state of affairs and the remaining challenges that need to be addressed.
The meeting highlighted the close coordination between Azerbaijan and Turkiye, particularly in navigating the complex post-conflict dynamics and promoting regional stability and cooperation.
