Azerbaijan and Türkiye Hold High-Level Talks to Strengthen Strategic Partnership

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, Jeyhun Bayramov, met on October 27 with Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye, Ayşe Berris Ekinci, in Baku to discuss key aspects of the Azerbaijan–Türkiye alliance and pressing regional and international security matters.
During the meeting, both sides reaffirmed the enduring brotherhood and strategic partnership between the two nations, grounded in the principles of the historic Shusha Declaration, which formalized their allied relations. They emphasized the importance of continuing to deepen cooperation across political, security, economic, trade, energy, transport, communication, cultural, and humanitarian spheres in accordance with the directives of the Presidents of both countries.
The discussions highlighted the successful collaboration between Azerbaijan and Türkiye within international organizations, particularly the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), described as a “family” by both parties. It was noted with confidence that the OTS Summit held in Gabala this year would further enhance the organization’s significance and cohesion.
Minister Bayramov briefed his Turkish counterpart on the ongoing Azerbaijan–Armenia normalization process, providing updates on its various dimensions and the discussions that took place during the recent Washington Summit.
The sides also exchanged views on the evolving situation in the Middle East, including developments in Gaza, Syria, and several African countries, as well as other bilateral and regional issues of shared concern.
On the same day, the next round of political consultations between the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Türkiye was convened. The Azerbaijani delegation was led by Deputy Foreign Minister Samir Sharifov, while the Turkish delegation was headed by Deputy Foreign Minister Ayşe Berris Ekinci.
