Azerbaijan and Türkiye Sign MoU on Statistics to Strengthen Bilateral Cooperation

Baku, The Gulf Observer: On the sidelines of the 14th session of the OIC Statistical Commission held in Ankara, Türkiye, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT) hosted a meeting with an Azerbaijani delegation led by Tahir Budagov, Chairman of the State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan.

During the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on statistics between the governments of Azerbaijan and Türkiye. The MoU was formally signed by Tahir Budagov and Erhan Çetinkaya, President of TURKSTAT.

Under the terms of the agreement, the implementation of the MoU is expected to strengthen bilateral relations in the field of official statistics, promote the use of modern information and communication technologies in statistical production, and facilitate the mutual exchange of best practices across various areas of statistical work.

The agreement reflects both countries’ commitment to enhancing cooperation in data-driven governance and statistical modernization, contributing to improved policy-making and regional collaboration.
