Azerbaijan and UAE Presidents Discuss Strategic Partnership and Cooperation in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: On January 13, President Ilham Aliyev of Azerbaijan held a meeting with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Abu Dhabi.
During the meeting, President Al Nahyan fondly recalled his official visits to Azerbaijan in 2024, including his participation in COP29, and the fruitful discussions he had with President Aliyev during these trips.
President Aliyev expressed his appreciation for President Al Nahyan’s involvement in COP29, highlighting the significant role the UAE played in ensuring the success of the international event. He emphasized that the collaboration between Azerbaijan and the UAE, combined with the UAE’s vision, greatly contributed to the event’s successful conclusion.
Both leaders reaffirmed the strong strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and the UAE, underscoring the friendly and brotherly relations that have been built between the two nations. They highlighted the prevailing stability and peace in their respective countries, which form the foundation for their growing cooperation.
President Aliyev praised the excellent political relations between the two countries and highlighted the increasing economic and trade ties, particularly in the fields of energy. He noted the UAE’s significant investments in Azerbaijan’s renewable energy sector as a clear demonstration of the deepening friendship and strategic partnership between the two countries. The ongoing cooperation in the traditional energy sector was also discussed as a key area of mutual benefit.
The meeting also provided an opportunity for both leaders to exchange views on a range of bilateral, regional, and global issues of mutual interest, with a shared commitment to strengthening their cooperation across various sectors.
