Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan FMs Discuss Regional Security, Urge De-escalation in Phone Talks

Baku, The Gulf Observer: On March 1, Jeyhun Bayramov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, and Bakhtiyor Saidov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, held a telephone conversation to exchange views on the evolving regional security environment.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan, the discussion centered on the tense security situation and the ongoing military escalation in the region. Both ministers expressed deep concern over recent developments that pose serious threats to regional peace and stability.
The two sides underscored the necessity for all parties to exercise maximum restraint, prevent any further expansion of military confrontation, and take concrete and immediate steps toward de-escalation. They emphasized that all disagreements and disputes must be resolved exclusively through political dialogue and diplomatic channels, in strict adherence to the norms and principles of international law.
In addition to security issues, the ministers reviewed matters arising from the allied relations between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan. They reaffirmed their commitment to continuing high-level engagements and exploring opportunities to further expand bilateral cooperation across various sectors.
The conversation reflected the shared determination of both countries to contribute to regional stability while strengthening their strategic partnership.
