Azerbaijan Army Marks Novruz and Ramadan with Nationwide Celebrations

Baku, The Gulf Observer: A series of events were held across the Azerbaijan Army to mark the festive occasions of Novruz and Ramadan, in accordance with the annual action plan approved by the Ministry of Defence.
The celebrations took place across various branches of the armed forces, including the Separate Combined Arms Army, military units and formations, as well as specialised military educational institutions.
The ceremonies commenced with a minute’s silence in memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, followed by the performance of the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Messages of congratulations from President Ilham Aliyev and the Minister of Defence were conveyed to military personnel, emphasizing the promotion of national and moral values, as well as the strengthening of patriotism within the ranks.
Speakers highlighted the arrival of spring as a symbol of joy and renewal, reflecting on the historical and cultural significance of Novruz and Ramadan. They underscored Azerbaijan’s deep-rooted traditions and the importance of celebrating these occasions at the state level.
It was also noted that the participation of President Ilham Aliyev, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva in nationwide festivities, along with their holiday greetings, has boosted the morale of military personnel.
As part of the celebrations, concert programmes were organized featuring performances by creative groups from the Hazi Aslanov Army Ideological and Cultural Centre and the Ganja Garrison Ideological and Cultural Centre. Servicemen who demonstrated excellence in their duties were honoured with awards.
During the holidays, military personnel visited the graves of fallen soldiers and met with their families, offering support and presenting holiday gifts as a gesture of respect and solidarity.
Officials reiterated that the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the country is always honoured, and assured that their families continue to receive care and attention from the state.
