Azerbaijan, Estonia FMs Discuss Strengthening Ties; Tallinn to Open Embassy in Baku in 2026

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Jeyhun Bayramov held a telephone conversation on December 2 with Estonian Foreign Minister Margus Tsahkna to discuss bilateral cooperation and regional developments.

According to the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, the two ministers exchanged views on key items on the Azerbaijan-Estonia agenda at both bilateral and multilateral levels, including regional and global issues of mutual interest.

Both sides welcomed the strengthening political dialogue between the two countries, noting the importance of recent reciprocal visits. They also underscored the value of mutual support within international organizations and reviewed ongoing cooperation in these platforms.

During the conversation, Minister Tsahkna informed his Azerbaijani counterpart of Estonia’s official decision to open an embassy in Azerbaijan in 2026. Minister Bayramov commended the announcement, expressing confidence that the establishment of the embassy would further enhance bilateral relations.

The ministers also discussed additional bilateral and regional matters, reaffirming their commitment to continued engagement and cooperation.
