Azerbaijan Inaugurates 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant Built by Saudi ACWA Power

Baku, The Gulf Observer: The official opening ceremony of the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, constructed by Saudi Arabia’s ACWA Power, was held on January 8 at the Gulustan Palace in Baku.

President Ilham Aliyev of the Republic of Azerbaijan delivered a keynote speech at the event, highlighting the project’s significance for the country’s renewable energy development.

Following the President’s address, remarks were delivered by Nasser Al-Qahtani, Assistant Minister of Energy for Electricity Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia; Ms. Lu Mei, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Azerbaijan; and Mohammad Abunayyan, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Directors of ACWA Power.

A short video presentation showcasing the Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant project was screened for attendees, providing an overview of the plant’s construction and operational features.

President Ilham Aliyev and Mohammad Abunayyan officially commissioned the 240 MW Khizi-Absheron Wind Power Plant, marking a milestone in Azerbaijan’s efforts to expand its renewable energy capacity.

The inauguration ceremony concluded with a group photograph of the dignitaries and attendees.
