Azerbaijan Launches New Phase of Great Return with Resettlement in Khojaly and Aghdara

Aghdam, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijan has launched another phase of its Great Return programme, relocating families to the villages of Badara and Dashbulg in the Khojaly district, as well as Vangli and Kolatagh in the Aghdara district, as part of ongoing efforts to restore life to liberated territories.

Under the latest phase, four families comprising 11 individuals were resettled in Dashbulg village, while 15 families, totaling 66 individuals, were relocated to Badara village in the Khojaly district. In the Aghdara district, six families with 14 individuals were resettled in Vangli village, and seven families comprising 31 individuals were relocated to Kolatagh village.

The resettlement forms part of the state’s broader Great Return initiative, which aims to ensure the safe, dignified and sustainable return of former internally displaced persons to their native lands. The programme includes the restoration of infrastructure, housing, social services and economic opportunities in the liberated areas.

Authorities said the return process is being carried out in stages, in line with demining efforts and the completion of essential infrastructure, to provide residents with secure living conditions and access to basic services.
