Azerbaijan to Attend Fourth D-8 Trade Ministers Council Meeting in Cairo

Cairo, The Gulf Observer: An Azerbaijani delegation is set to participate in the Fourth Meeting of the D-8 Trade Ministers Council and the preceding senior officials meeting, to be hosted by the Arab Republic of Egypt on December 1–2, 2025, in Cairo.
Delegations from all member states of the Developing-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation are expected to attend the high-level gathering.
The session will begin with a review of the provisional agenda for the fourth ministerial meeting, followed by statements from the D-8 Secretary General and the heads of participating delegations.
The ministerial-level meeting, scheduled for December 2, is anticipated to adopt the Cairo Declaration on Trade Cooperation, which is expected to outline new priorities and mechanisms aimed at strengthening economic and trade ties among member countries.
Founded in 1997 to enhance economic cooperation among developing nations, the D-8 currently comprises Malaysia, Indonesia, Pakistan, Iran, Bangladesh, Egypt, Nigeria, Türkiye, and Azerbaijan. Egypt has held the rotating chairmanship of the organization since last year.
Azerbaijan became a member of the D-8 on December 19, 2024, after being unanimously elected during the 11th Summit of the organization in Cairo.
