Azerbaijan, TRNC Prime Ministers Discuss Expanding Bilateral Ties and Strengthening Cooperation within Turkic States

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Ali Asadov, Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, met with Ünal Üstel, Prime Minister of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, to discuss the current state and future prospects of bilateral relations across multiple sectors.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the growing momentum in Azerbaijan–TRNC ties, highlighting the increasing frequency of reciprocal visits, strengthened interparliamentary engagement, and enhanced cooperation between political parties.
The prime ministers emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in humanitarian, cultural, and tourism sectors, noting their role in fostering closer people-to-people connections.
Particular attention was given to cooperation within the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), where the officials acknowledged the contributions of the TRNC as an observer state. They also underscored the significance of the meeting of the Heads of Government and Vice Presidents of OTS member states being hosted in Baku.
The leaders highlighted that the Baku-hosted meeting would play a crucial role in strengthening intergovernmental coordination within the OTS framework and advancing the shared agenda on key priority areas identified by the heads of state.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of both sides to further deepen strategic cooperation and promote unity among Turkic states.
