Azerbaijan, Türkiye Discuss Climate Action and COP Processes in Istanbul
Baku, The Gulf Observer: Mukhtar Babayev, Representative of the President of Azerbaijan on Climate Issues and President of COP29, met with Murat Kurum, Türkiye’s Minister of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, in Istanbul to discuss climate action, international cooperation and ongoing COP processes.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation on climate-related initiatives, as well as exchanging views on preparations and coordination for upcoming Conferences of the Parties under the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change.
In a statement shared on social media platform X, Minister Murat Kurum said that consultations were held on the hosting and presidency of COP31 with Mukhtar Babayev and his accompanying delegation.
The discussions underscored the importance of close coordination between Azerbaijan and Türkiye in advancing global climate goals and enhancing collaboration within the COP framework.
