Azerbaijan

Avaza, The Gulf Observer: A trilateral meeting in the format “Azerbaijan–Turkmenistan–Uzbekistan” was convened on Friday in the Avaza National Tourist Zone, bringing together the National Leader of the Turkmen People and Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The leaders discussed prospects for strengthening multilateral cooperation across trade, economic, transport, energy, and humanitarian sectors. Particular emphasis was placed on leveraging the transit potential of the three countries to form a sustainable transcontinental route linking China with South Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, according to the press service of the President of Uzbekistan.

Key topics included the advancement of the Middle Corridor—along with the Zangezur Corridor—expansion of trade turnover and industrial cooperation, as well as the creation of wholesale distribution centers. The sides also considered the introduction of digital product labeling and the development of joint electronic platforms to modernize trade mechanisms.

In the humanitarian sphere, the leaders proposed a trilateral program of tourism and cultural exchanges. To ensure the implementation of agreements, it was suggested to draft a “roadmap” and to organize regular ministerial meetings focused on priority areas of cooperation.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan to enhancing regional connectivity, promoting economic resilience, and deepening cultural ties.
