Azerbaijani and North Macedonian Presidents Discuss Strengthening Bilateral Relations

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev held a meeting with his North Macedonian counterpart, President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova, to discuss the expansion of bilateral relations across various sectors.

During the meeting, President Siljanovska Davkova commended the excellent organization of COP29, which is currently being hosted by Azerbaijan, and praised the engaging presentation on Azerbaijani culture showcased during the opening ceremony. She expressed her appreciation for Azerbaijani culture and emphasized the importance of cultural diplomacy, underscoring the broad opportunities for collaboration between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia.

President Aliyev welcomed the visit and expressed hope that it would further strengthen ties between the two nations. He noted that enhancing economic, trade, and cultural relations would be key areas of focus in the bilateral partnership. He also addressed concerns regarding unjust propaganda targeting Azerbaijan in connection with COP29, reaffirming the country’s commitment to hosting the event.

The two leaders discussed a wide range of topics, including potential investment opportunities, cooperation in agriculture, tourism, education, and culture. President Aliyev highlighted Azerbaijan’s interest in developing stronger relations with Balkan countries, including North Macedonia, particularly in the areas of investment and economic cooperation.

Both Presidents exchanged formal invitations for official visits to their respective countries, with mutual gratitude expressed for the gesture. The meeting marked a significant step toward deepening ties between Azerbaijan and North Macedonia in the coming years.
