Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission Releases ‘Handbook for Observers’ Guide
Baku, The Gulf Observer: As part of the educational initiative for election stakeholders ahead of the scheduled snap presidential election on February 7, 2024, Azerbaijan’s Central Election Commission (CEC) has meticulously developed a practical and comprehensive guide titled “Handbook for Observers”, CEC told media. This guide is specifically tailored to provide valuable insights and instructions for observers involved in the electoral process. The CEC’s proactive step in preparing this handbook aims to equip observers with detailed guidelines and essential information, enhancing their understanding and facilitating effective participation in ensuring a transparent and credible electoral procedure within the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The main goal of the project is to raise the awareness of observers, who will be monitoring the upcoming presidential elections, and provide them with methodical assistance. The edition contains detailed information on the principles of observation, duties and rights of observers.
The guidebook is compiled based on the Election Code and the legal documents approved by CEC.
The “Handbook for Observers”, available in three languages – Azerbaijani, English and Russian, can be obtained from lower election commissions, as well as the CEC official website (www.msk.gov.az).
